What is Baby Bassinet Shop about?

I'm sure all parents will agree that being a parent is a demanding, 24-7 job. Those same parents will no doubt also say that parenthood is one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives.

I have the privilege of being one of those people. Sometimes I want to pull out every single hair on my head, and other times I cannot hold back my tears of complete elation.

With the arrival of a new baby also comes the arrival of tons of stuff. Cribs, bedding, a changing table, swing, bouncer, exersaucer, front carrier, backpack carrier, sling, diaper bag and about a thousand diapers are some of the few things parents can expect to purchase. Many are putting a baby bassinet on their long list of needs for their little bundle of joy.

What kind should you buy?
Where can you go to find one?
What should you do if your bed gets recalled?
Which types of baby bassinets are the safest, and which should you avoid?

These questions and more will be answered here. I personally always like to thoroughly research a product before I buy, especially one that will affect my child. Some baby cradles have been known to cause death due improper construction. We parents need to help each other out and share our good and bad experiences with baby bassinets. Who knows? That information could save a child's life.

I owned a cradle for my daughter, and I found it to be invaluable. Having her sleep by my side those first two months of her life eased my tension. I could easily check on her to make sure she was still breathing. (I'm not the only parent that did that, right?) I could quickly pull her out to nurse her when she was hungry. When she was fussy, I could soothe her in my arms and then gently place her in her bed, only a couple feet from my bed.

You might need to purchase a baby bassinet if you:
  • want your infant within arm's reach
  • desire to make feedings less time-consuming
  • want to prepare your kid for sleeping alone

My daughter did a great job transitioning to her crib. I put her in her crib during naps to get her used to that huge baby bed, and when I felt she was ready, she slept in her crib in her own room. She slept straight through the night that first night, only waking for her middle of the night feeding. She's always loved sleeping in her crib.

Here at Baby Bassinet Shop, I promise to only share my personal information, experience and opinion. I am not an expert or a physician. I'm a concerned parent, like you.
